Pray for Nigeria

Dear Prayer Partners,

It has been some time since some of you have heard from us and I do apologize. Pray specifically for a greater Love and Grace to combat the frustration, disappointment and discouragement surrounding life and ministry here in Nigeria.

As most of you no doubt have heard of the troubles in Northern Nigeria, please be in prayer for one of our staff members and his family, Ali Gorjo. Last week Boko Haram attacked the town, Mallam Fatori that is closest to our Discipleship Training Center, forcing Ali and his family along with about 30 converts to hide in the desert. Since that point Ali has been searching for a place to relocate to in the Niger Republic, his home Country, but has not found anything yet. Yesterday two other towns very close to the DTC were also attacked with many buildings set ablaze in one of the towns. Please pray for safty, wisdom and direction for Ali, his family and the many Fulani converts that are with them.

Tomorrow two teams are headed to Southern Plateau for a weekend evangelism outing. The survey I did last week gave us good indications that we would not have problems and a call yesterday proved the area was not a security risk for us to travel to. However, in the Nigeria we live in today, where anything and everything seems to happen, we do need for people to pray for safety on the road and in the villages, that the equipment will not disappoint us and that our time will be profitable for our Lord and an encouragement to the Christians in the area.

Pray for safety for Meredith and Sarah who will remain back in Jos. We have had a few months of rather disturbing home invasions in our area and although we have added security measures around our home and have even been able to get the Police to patrol our area on a regular basis, It is the Lord who will keep them safe in my absence and your prayers that will facilitate the answer to these requests.

Please know that in spite of the challenges we face daily, God continues to work in amazing ways and for that we are grateful—His grace is what keeps us going.

Part of His Workmanship

Bob
